Hi Jill,

Congratulations on getting into this amazing field of teaching!

I would kill for the opportunity to work WITH the teachers and the students
in the Library. What you do NOT want them to do...is their marking, office
work etc.

What you WANT to do...is COLLABORATE with them on a lesson, integrate the
library information literacy program with their curriculum and TEAM TEACH.

Start with one teacher and really do a bang-up job with a project that she
must teach. Help her to plan the lessons and then team teach it.

If you are the new person on board, the talk is fast and furious about you
in the staff room and what you want them to be talking about is how great
thou art!

Look up collaboration in the archives or in a search engine.

Best of luck,

Carolyn
