Hi, all! I'm trying to put together a unit for an high school English teacher that will introduce her students to famous literary characters that appear in a different work of fiction. The inspiration for this was Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair. For those of you who haven't read it Thursday Next, a detective in the LiteraTec unit has to go after a villain who seeks to cut out the main characters in the original manuscripts. Thursday gets some help from Jane Eyre's Rochester, her aunt gets kidnapped and imprisoned in a Milton poem. It's a really unique idea and interesting read if you've never seen it. I have three books - the two Thursday Next books and the graphic novel of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but I'm having a hard time coming up with others... she doesn't want retellings, more of books with alternate realities, I guess you would say. Any genre-jumping ideas for me? Thanks so much! Erin White Lapeer Community Schools Lapeer, MI ewhite0628@yahoo.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster.
