Swank (the parent company of Movie Licensing USA) has a service that sells =
expurgated copies of R rated movies. They are the versions that have been =
edited for showing on airplanes, busses, and TV. They may still not be =
suitable for schools, though, as they haven't been sanitized to the G =
rating level. These are AUTHORIZED edits, so there is no copyright =
consideration regarding editing. Of course, they don't come with public =
performance rights, so you would need to meet the AV fair use guidelines =

Our school has decided to discard The Patriot, Glory, and Last of the
Mohicans because of a rating.  (They are rated R for violence).  I have
an old copy of Glory that I have had to splice but it was edited for
educational use.  My question is:  Are there edited copies of The
