ELEM - author visits

Hi - I'm a school librarian in a K-8 school in NYC and I'm trying to plan a
day in the spring in which we invite 3-4 authors to the school to talk about
their work to students. We'll group the grades accordingly. I have 2 questions.
Has anyone invited Bryan Collier and if so, what was your experience?  Also,
any suggestions on authors who are local (within the 5 boroughs) and willing to
lower their fees for public schools? Thanks for any info. It's appreciated.
