I took my 14-year old daughter and my 6-year old son (who had been "media-trained") to see the movie this weekend. Most of "crude" stuff went over the 6-year-old's head and my 14-year old continued to "roll her terrible eyes, and show her terrible claws,...." (oops...wrong book), throughout the entire movie because I insisted that she come with us (since she wanted to see two other movies instead--- Haunted Mansion and Elf). Within 30 minutes of the movie and very few laughs, I began to watch (and listen to) the audience. No one was laughing at the "jokes" and no one seemed to be smiling. In fact, it might have been viewed as a documentary if only the faces of the audience could have been seen without any sounds from the film. I was disappointed and wished that I had seen "Elf" (again) with my children. It had much funnier scenes and a feel-good sense of humor. (Is it just me, or are most movies pretty bland and without "substance"?) However, on the bright-side....the documentary on A&E about "Dr. Seuss" Sunday evening was wonderful! I need this video if / when it becomes available! ~Shonda Brisco Trinity Valley MS / US Librarian Fort Worth, TX sbrisco021@charter.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
