Is there a name for the type (genre) of novel that incorporates non-fiction or instructional information that parallels the storyline? I'm thinking of novels like Secret Life of Bees where the information about beekeeping parallels the story. Or How to Make an American Quilt. Or Like Water for Chocolate. We're reading Secret Life of Bees for our teacher book group & one of the teachers asked if there was a name for this type of novel. Unfortunately I couldn't answer. :( Does anyone out there know? -- Diane Ferbrache Librarian Lindbergh High School 16426 128th Ave. SE Renton, WA 98058 425-204-3206 dferbrache@renton.wednet.edu =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
