Hi, Folks -
After doing away with SACS accreditation for elementary and middle
schools, our district has decided to reinstate this and has requested
collection information from media specialists regarding the status of
media collections. According to the SACS evaluation instrument, the
school should, "provide a balanced collection of 2,000 usable
library volumes or at least 10 volumes per student whichever is
greater.... Library books on order but not delivered may be counted
as a part of the requirement. Books on CD-ROM or other electronic
media may be counted in meeting this requirement." However, how do
multi-volumne works, professional titles, and classroom sets affect this
total? I would appreciate advice and input on determining accurate
collection figures. Thanks
