I have a quantity of Picture CD Disks from a commercial photo
developer. These disks were made over a period of 12 months for a
large archival project.

The photo developer changed "software" midstream and now I can no
longer mount the newer CD's on my iMac but they will mount on my
older Power Mac with the exception of one disc which mounts on both
(that one disc was duplicated -- 2 copies of the same thing -- and
the duplicate won't mount). The photo lab has attempted to fix the
problem and had remade the disks twice. The final time they removed
their viewing software and just put the jpegs themselves and I use my
viewing software.

will mount on Power Mac OS 7.5.5

will not mount on iMac OS 9.1 OS ROM 7.3.1 (whatever that means --
that's what the "about this mac" says)

I'm thinking this is a simple something since the disks will mount on
all of the lab's equipment and will mount on one of my computers.
BTW every other photo disk in the world seems to mount on the iMac
except these newer ones that the lab has made. I can open ALL of
their earlier photo CDs.

Anyone have a guess as to why this is happening?

Usually I can solve these quirks one way or another but this one has
me stumped (and frantic since the project needs to be finished and
the software I need to tweak them is attached to my iMac and is not
compatible with the older mac.

HELP!
