A colleague came to me today with a question and I knew someone here
would have the answer.=20
He remembers as a boy gazing downstairs at his father in his casket. The
casket was in the dining room and remained there for 3 days. He and his
cousin saw the undertaker lift his father forward and take a bucket of
ice from behind him, dump the water and put more ice in the bucket. He
(the teacher) isn't sure if he really remembers everything correctly.
Could this be true? I told him that it makes sense since embalming may
have been expensive and the body would have to be kept cold (it was
summer).

Does anyone have any information that can help him with his memories?

Thank you in advance.
