Name this book

Hi everyone,
One of my students needs help remebering a book.  He is doing a report
on the book.  He can not remember the name or author of the book. When
he described the book, it did not sound familiar.   Below are the
details of the book.

It's about a boy who's aunt dies.  His brother moves in with another
aunt and uncle.  The boy goes to an orphanage, then runs away.  There is
an art teacher in the book who helps him.
