Posting Again, sorry Re: Reading in Florida

My last post was mixed up so I am trying again:
I now live and teach in Florida. My children attend a
Catholic elementary school and I work at the Catholic
High School.
My kindergartener had to read four books and write
four book reports over the summer before entering
first grade.
At the High School all of our students have summer
reading, class reading, and outside reading. They also
write papers in Jr. High and throughout high school.
Book reports and journals are done in the elementary
grades.
So, in the county where I live and teach yes the
students do read and write and our faculty and staff
know where Harvard (Haaaahvaaahd) is :)
