Dear Friends I am thinking of ordering - ANYONE'S GUESS - INTERACTIVE MYSTERY SERIES Developed by Janet Dickey currently available from Upstart Books for our March Madness celebration. Has anyone held this kind of event in their school or library? If so, what words of wisdom do have to share? What do you wish you had known before starting? I will post a HIT if there is interest. I have included the information for those interested in learning more: http://www.hpress.highsmith.com/99teen.htm#GUESS Whodunit? It's Anyone's Guess! All-inclusive kits make it fun and easy to stage interactive mystery programs for teens! Anyone's Guess kits include everything you need to plan and produce a mystery program for middle and high school age students. After examining evidence and reading accounts from witnesses and suspects, participants are challenged to solve the mystery. Each kit includes a planning guide that details the props you will need, suggestions for creating the scenes, program procedures and the solution to the mystery. Display the included evidence sheets for all participants to see, and reproduce the crime incident/victim/suspect reports, initial statements to police and answer sheets for individual handouts. Sample press releases and flyers help you promote your program. DEATH GETS A RED CARD Sept. 2002. P83-39656 $39.95 Jamie Stokes, star of the high school soccer team, was found strangled outside the local library. Why would anyone want to kill this talented athlete with such a bright future? THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ANGELA DAY Oct. 2002. P83-39657 $39.95 Teenager Angela Day has been missing since yesterday afternoon. Is she a runaway, or did someone want her to disappear because she knew too much? ROCK 'N' ROLL OVER DEAD Nov. 2002. P83-39658 $39.95 The body of music librarian Melinda Carey was discovered in the meeting room of the local library, with no immediate cause of death evident. Were natural causes to blame, or did she meet a more sinister demise? THE PHARAOH'S CURSE Dec. 2002. P83-39659 $39.95 Just one hour after being crowned "Queen of the Nile" at her high school prom, Amara Fahdi was found injured and unconscious at the bottom of a staircase. Was it an unfortunate accident or attempted murder? The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. --Information Power: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs (1988), ~^~ Brook A.
