Good afternoon, LM-NET! I have a question for our MLA gurus. My teachers and I prefer to assign a 'works consulted' list instead of a 'works cited' list so that we can see ALL of the works that the students consulted. Gibaldi's style manual discusses the difference between the two lists (page 153 of the 2nd ed.), but does not explicitly state that one may be substituted for another. Question: May teachers assign a 'list of works consulted' instead of a 'list of works cited' and still be within the guidelines of MLA?
