I have been reading with interest the concerns about separate shelving in K-5 schools. I would like to hear this same problem address with respect to K-12 schools. I will be the new librarian in an established K-12 school. I plundered around a little yesterday and it appears that the collection is separated into juvenile and young adult. Do most K-12 libraries do this? How do you determine where the cut off should be? Do you cross shelve books that are on the borderline? Do you note in the card-catalog where the book is located? Thanks in advance, Vaneesa Vaneesa Thompson Soon to be Library Media Specialist (I hope) West Morgan Trinity, AL vaneesat@aol.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
