My favorite science experiment book when our daughter was young is: United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. 700 science experiments for everyone / foreword by Gerald Wendt. Garden City, NY : Doubleday, 1964, c1962. Rev. and enl. ed. 250 p. : illus., tables. ; 24 cm. The experiments use materials that are often already available in the home or can be brought cheaply or often found at garage sales. The book, however, is for all ages, not just pre-K - K. Cheers. Examples of experiments that I've found from varied resources are: 1. mixing baking soda and vinegar to make gas 2. placing a glass upside down in a bowl of water to show that air is in the glass. These worked well for him; he grasped the concept and had fun. I've searched extensively for a book that has just science experiments for his age group, but I haven't found anything. Any suggestions? Please respond to me off-list. Thanks so much.
