When I worked at a college library that was being renovated, the architect gave us a possible explanation of what we thought were roof leaks. I am not sure whether he was right, but at the time we thought was a rational explanation since the roof had been sealed and recoated several times. He stated that on a humid day, water would condense on pipes running between the false ceiling and roof, then start dripping at some point after running down the pipe. We had no solution other than to run a dehumidifier. Take care, Luis R.
