Dear summer Netters, Ain't vacation grand? I am using some of mine to take an American history class (colonial and revolutionary) for elementary school teachers. It is very exciting. Oh, yes, the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Assoc in Old Deerfield, from whence comes our class, has one dynamite web site: http://memorialhall.mass.edu/home.html If you have a computer with a fast connection and all the bells and whistles, check out the "Activities" link. You can turn objects around and inspect them close up. You can see on-the-spot translations of original documents. Check out the lesson plans in the classroom section, too. Anyway, here's a request my teacher made, knowing I'm a librarian: >Please think of picture books and easy readers whose main point is >the Golden Rule -- from any culture, whatever. >If you could bring any in to share, that would be for Thursday. >We will be making the point about the human universality of the Golden Rule. Any ideas, folks? I don't think A to Zoo has a Golden Rule subject heading. Many thanks!!
