Well, guys, I am at school going through my email archives and cannot
find the email address for the people I corresponded with about my
missing "Do We Really KNow Dewey?" site.
I find that I posted a message to the list around Feb. 21, 2003, saying
that I had gotten the site up on our Columbia Public Schools' server.
However, I then have a huge gap in my email from there back to October
29, 2002!! I remember one day I was at my computer and suddenly my
email "in box" started disappearing before my eyes. I called the
district Help Desk and they looked everywhere but couldn't retrieve
those messages.
So, the address I wrote to and the replies I received are gone. I do
know that the address I wrote to from the "this site is no longer
available" didn't work, and I looked all over the internet until I found
the company who now has all those websites that were taken off. Whoever
it was I corresponded said they hoped to have them back soon, but as you
can see from the paragraph above, it was February of 2003 and they
aren't back yet.
If you want to try the same searching approach I did, seems like I
started with the email address that didn't work and took the company
name from it and did a Google search?? Maybe?? I remember eventually
finding a name of some firm that had taken the sites, and I worked from
there. I do remember it being a long and tedious search, but that was
several months ago and maybe their own website has improved by now.
