award books

Hi all-
I am a Young Adult Librarian and am going to be giving a presentation to
other librarians on teen book awards. The ones I am focusing on are the
Newbery and Coretta Scott King. Have any of you (or teachers in your
school) used these awards in conjunction with programs at the school?
For example, a grade would read the nominees or winner of the award and
then plan activities around the books? If so, please share what you or
your school has done so I can pass on the info. to other librarians
during my presentation. Thank you so much!
