GEN: Info on Resource Book

I am a new LMS in an elementary school and, in my search for resource
materials for lessons and activities, I found a reference In the LM_NET
archives from a post from 2001 to a book entitled "The New Elementary
School Librarian's Almanac."

I have found a couple of used copies available on the Web, and was
wondering if anyone could give me more information about the book before
I made the purchase.

Have you used the book?  Do you think the activities and information were
really helpful, especially for raw recruits like myself?  Do you think
the materials are too dated to be of use 12 years after the book was
published?

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.
