Target: Conversion of Collection

Hi, everyone!

I'm putting together a proposal to automate my
library, hopefully over the summer.  Can anyone share
their advice on using a vendor for retrospective
conversion of the card catalog vs. asking the school
to pay me over the summer to do the conversion myself?
 Are there any particular companies or factors I
should take into account?  The main advice I found in
the archives was to weed, weed, weed, so I've been
weeding all year, and I hope to be ready to move on to
the actual conversion.
