Hello,

I've got an interesting question. I just started working in a high =
school library. I've been "spot-checking" the stacks and have come =
across some troublesome materials that I'll be weeding in the next few =
weeks. For instance, I found The Negro in our History (original =
copyright 1922, 10th edition/revised 1962) in our collection--that =
scares me!

My question is..are there any websites or print resources out there that =
suggest what to replace outdated material with? I've used SunLink's =
"Weed of the Month" for some of my guidelines and replacement titles for =
general subject areas, but I'm wondering if there are any other good =
places to look, aside from some of the journals.

I'll post a hit with whatever information I wind up with.

TIA,

Jen Turney, Librarian
Angleton High School
Angleton, TX
