I think gathering info about a future boss privately is fine, if you
want to spend your time that way.  Posting the person's full name to a
listserv with 14,000 members is an invasion of that person's privacy and
in poor taste.  No one I know would appreciate this being done to them.
I for one prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt and get to know
them one on one, rather than look for ways to develop a pre-conceived
notion of them.  One of the responsive postings indicated that this
would be a good way to eliminate child molesters getting jobs in
schools.  If someone is really considered about that issue, they should
work with their school board and or administrators to develop proper
screening procedures for EVERY applicant.  I think it would be best if
this type of inquiry was not allowed on the listserv.
