Hello!
I"ve had 49 requests for my curriculum! Wow!! But Earl Moniz has come to my
rescue again and has graciously invited me to send him the text which he
will add to his web site.
If all of you can give me a week or so, it will be ready. I also have a
bunch of lesson plans that I will be posting there also.
You will be able to view it and print out what you want of it.

I need a week or so because I work in Appleworks at school and I sent it all
home to my Windows 98 computer last Friday. Before it is posted I have to go
thru it and get rid of the un-necessary parts. Its been a year or so since
I've looked at the curriculum! When I'm doing lesson plans I open up the
lesson I want to use and edit it and print it out. I haven't written any
"from scratch" for a few years.

Before you get too excited I want to want you that I teach first thru third
grades only, and I don't have the other school's curriculum or lessons.
Also, it's nothing award winning or anything!!! I hope no one is too
disappointed! I'm just a chubby 40ish elementary school librarian in
Southern New Jersey! (no MLS, even!)

And while I'm thinking about it, let me add this. I think a person can teach
just about anything if s/he is excited about it and makes it interesting. If
you are tentative or hesitant the kids will pick up on it and ruin it. If
someone had let me see the future when I was 17 and showed me getting
excited about Officer Buckle I would have laughed out loud. But I knew that
I love kids, especially the younger ones, and I love picture books and my
job is so much fun because I get to do what I love all day long. It's hard
to always have that attitude but the days go so much better with a good
attitude.
(I wrote that more for me that for any of you! Attitude!! Attitude!!
Attitude!!)

I'll post another message when the curriculum is accessible. Thanks for your
enthusiasm!

Karen DeFrank, LMS
