We also found that KidPix does not like to be networked (we use Windows NT)
and that the only function that works in that environment is the Paint a
Picture option. Although the Slideshow feature works, we found that we could
not save the children's work. It also does not work at all in the
thin-client environment.

We have found that MaxWrite, part of the Max's Sandbox suite is a much
better option. http://www.maxssandbox.com/  It offers a junior school
interface to MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
