It's that time of year when I make odd research requests. It's sophomore
research paper time when the students get to choose just about anything
that interests them as a topic for their papers. What often happens is
that we need to find different types of sources, and can't. This topic has
to do with older ice hockey (NHL) players complaining that in more recent
years the officials are seeing a lot more obstructions being visited on
players, but they are less likely to call the penalties. There's more
"physical contact, " so to speak like punching, etc. Apparently there are
tons of articles out there addressing this phenomenon, but the student
needs to have a book as a source. Does anyone know of a recently published
book about the NHL that discusses this controversy? Thanks so much.
