Target: NJ only -- Certification for Associate Media Specialist

Hi everyone,
I have a questions for which I've not been able to find the answer.  I
was under the impression that in order to be certified as an Associate
Library Media Specialist in NJ a person had to complete the course work
and also have one year of teaching experience.  Is this assumption
correct?  If anyone knows, please answer me directly.
