I have recently joined the 21st century. I have replaced my old DOS version
of Unison/CirculationPlus with the Windows
Multi-user/CircPlus/CatPlus/AlliancePlus, and I have lots of questions.
My district is going from one library to two (and I have to clone myself or
split my time), and the collection will be in two locations, but still only
one database. It currently is split into two sections housed in the same
room. Ever since I've been here I have put a location on every book in the
computer-9 for elem and 11 for hs. When we get the catalog up and running,
will those locators be available to students to know where the book is, or
will I have to do something else?

Also, I have several questions about Autorecon and related issues. The
manual keeps referring to "standard numbers" on local cataloging. For the
most part our local cataloging doesn't have anything but author/title/call
number information. Do I have to enter all these by hand? Is there
something else I should do first before running Autorecon? I've read the
manual, but am hesitant to do anything without confirmation. It refers to
something in "Setup". What do you recommend that I do? Do I want to
replace Brief Records/Full Records, etc. I am really gun shy about doing
anything to drastic, and then not being able to undo it if it is wrong. I'm
not sure I even know what questions to ask!!! TIA for your help.
