We added this class to our curriculum this school year. We utlized
the GaleNet databases for the research projects in this course. The
students really like using Gale's Expanded Academic ASAP database. We
also use print materials, primary source documents on CD-ROM, BigChalk
databases, and AV materials. So far the class has been very successful.

Our school is going to offer a new class next year entitled "Current
Issues." The instructor and I have discussed using Newsweek, Time,
U.S.News & World Report, newspapers, possibly television news programs.
Do any of you have other suggestions for current issues? Besides using
the library copies of the printed materials, are there any programs or
other options for him to keep in the classroom for extended periods of
time? Any good websites for current issues? Any suggestions for
activities?
