I seem to be missing something here. Just when was it that Iraq attacked the
US? Yes, we came to the rescue when they attacked Kuwait. If you're
referring to 9/11, I think you're a little confused. That was a group of
Islamic extremists based in Afghanistan, most of whom came from Saudi
Arabia. We've already bombed Afghanistan, killing who-knows-how-many
innocent civilians, and Osama still eludes us. So now we should bomb the
Iraqui people, who are already starving and suffering under an oppressive
regime, killing thousands of them and sacrificing our own men in an attempt
to get their dictator? (And their oil, of course.)

Ironically, it was the CIA who originally trained Al Quaeda and gave them
weapons to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan. And we gave the Iraquis
weapons to fight the Iranians and vice versa. It was our guys who funded and
trained them. So maybe now we should just bomb all Arabs and Muslims to
avoid future problems? Even Sikhs (who are neither) are regulary harassed
in this country already. Maybe to be safe we should lock up everyone with a
beard and turban.

Yes, Saddam is a monster and a big problem (which we helped create.) But
there is no easy answer to dealing with him. And no, I don't think this is
the place to be airing political views, but the least we can do before
making specious comments is to try and be informed of the facts.
