Rosemary,

How about doing a comparison study with another class in another part of the
states or the world?  Some of the historic villages, Sturbridge, Mount
Vernon, etc., will set up special events for lots of schools to have a
videoconference. I would bet NASA might have something available. Do you have
a district social studies/science curriculum specialist?  If so, this should
be right up there alley.  I would do some research before you just dispose of
it.  If you subscribe to Classroom Connect, there should be some ideas there.
 Do an ERIC search and see what you come with there as well, it should led to
you some documents and periodicals that will be useful.  Good luck!  Ruie
