Dear LM_Net, I would appreciate suggestions of fiction titles for a second-grader who has trouble getting along with his peers. He is ian excellent reader, so complexity of language is not a barrier in choosing a book. He tends to brag about himself, is adamant about doing things his way, and generally doesn't understand give-and-take with others. She reports that he'll invite friends over and then go off to play by himself. He's not a complete loner, though, and does recognize that he wants friends. She is looking for a book to read and discuss with him that has a story where the protagonist grows in this area. She is one of my most cherished volunteers and I would love to pass on good ideas. Thank you so much for any suggestions. Sincerely, Judy Strosahl Coe Elementary School Librarian 2424-7th Ave W.
