I am preparing to request additional library funding in order to purchase a
multimedia projector and copyboard for use in our library and/or our school.
We currently have one available for use, but it is shared by the whole
district, so availability is always an issue. I'm estimating a cost of
$1,000 to $2,000, so I need some convincing rationale on why our school
needs a projector of our very own. Do any of you have any suggestions for
how it can be used in an elementary setting (PreK through second grade to be
exact?) I'm also considering practical faculty uses like for staff
development meetings. We always meet in the huge auditorium, and the
speakers mostly use Old Faithful (an overhead projector with
transparencies). needless to say, those of us in the back row see very
little of the presentation. And, we have to drag in a projector screen from
Who Knows Where, because there's not a permanent one in the auditorium.
I've also been searching the Net for research the documents the benefits of
using modern projectors in education versus the old devices. If you know of
anything you've read recently that may help me, please let me know!
