Dear LM-Netters, Have any of you high school library media specialists who have enough students to qualify for two library media specialists chosen to work with an Instructional Technologist (someone with a Masters in Instructional Technology) instead of another Library Media Specialist? SACS accreditation requires two librarians when your student population reaches 1,000. However, you could hire a person with a degree in Instructional Technology. I have a friend who qualifies for a second librarian in his school but is considering working with someone who has her Masters Degree in Instructional Technology. He asked me to post the question to LM-Net so he could possibly email someone working in that situation about the pros and cons of such an arrangement. I will post a hit if there is interest. Thanks so much! Pat :-) "What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it thinks about education." - Howard Howe, former U.S. Commissioner of Education Pat W.
