Hello Everyone, I have an IM Masters, but have been thinking about pursuing an additional LIS from an ALA accredited school. For those of you who feel comfortable sharing, I hope to get some input from you Since there are 20 states that have no ALA accredited program - I am wondering how many of you got your education/degree/certification at an ALA accredited university? Then for those who did not - Was an ALA accredited school available? To your knowledge, have you been disqualified for a position because ALA accreditation was a requirement? and finally, assuming there was no ALA accredited school available - if there had been a choice of pursuing an ALA accredited degree as opposed to the non-accredited degree, which would you have chosen? I am not implying that one degree is in ANY WAY better or worse. My decision to look into this is a personal issue. Thank you for sharing your info and opinions. -- Brook Berg, Media Specialist Detroit Lakes Middle School 500 11th Ave. Detroit Lakes, MN 56501 218-847-9228 bberg@detlakes.k12.mn.us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
