In my home we have several computers and one printer. With two teenagers in
the home we use a lot. . The best one for the money is HP color ink jet
printer cp 1700. It is made for a small businesses and the quality of the
print is similar to a laser printer.  The printer can be network and you can
purchase an air card so that the printer does not have to physically connect
to all the computers.  It comes with black and 3 separate color ink
cartilages so that you only replace the color you need.
It was reasonably priced and we been happy with it.
