Bushfire States -help please (NOW?)

Can someone please send me a quick reply to tell me which states in the US
are most affected by bushfires? Am writing a b-i-g project about our
bushfires for our littlies and want to focus on a Ranger teddy arriving here
from the US to investigate the fires - have the teddy but need to know which
state he would be likely to be from.  Also do you call them wildlife
rangers/
