Dear Chuck and LM_Netters,

I'm with you on this one. I don't like it when districts micromanage what
resources teachers use in the class. There is such a vast array of resources
that limiting them may allow for a child not being reached or a duller
cirriculum. However, that said, remember the ultimate responsability for
those resources should rest on the teacher, not the district, so select with
caution.

Also, maybe one reason the district is doing this is duplication. For
example, Holes, by Louis Sachar is very popular now. It won't help read it in
5th, 6th, and 7th grade reading classes however. So coordination with peers
is important, too.
