Arlington Central School District, a growing and respected district in Dutchess County, is located in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley of NYS, about 90 miles north of NYC and about 90 miles south of Albany. We have an opening for a Library Media Specialist for our middle school. (Grades 6-8). The building has a population of approximately 1100 students. The library consists of two adjacent spaces, one for research and the other for class instruction and reading. This helps to provide a broad and dynamic program. The library is fully automated (Follet). Computers are connected to a local area network that includes word processing, databases, math and science applications and Internet access. Presently, eight elementary schools, one high school and another middle school comprise the rest of the district. We are building two more schools. One aspect that sets the Library Media Specialists apart is our collaboration and strong commitment to communication. We are looking for an energetic library media specialist, with an interest in passing on a love of literature, as well as in aiding students develop proficiency for lifelong learning. You may find out more about our district by visiting our website. An on-line application is available.
