Does anyone think this is going to be some kind of trend? Replacing
librarians with tech people? Our district here in Texas has now given the
2nd librarian at all the high schools some of the technology
responsibilities. The university where I'm going to be getting my MLS has a
degree that emphasizes technology. I'm wondering if that's the way to go.

Yes, please stay aboard. We hope that this budget catastrophe in
California will not endure more than a year or so, and when it ends, we
will need experienced folks such as yourself to help us out of the pit the
state K-12 system will have been in.
