We have always kept a paper copy of the accession list in our library. We use Follett Software for our electronic catalog and purchase books from a variety of vendors (some of which come with a disk to be loaded in the catalog) and we also catalog donated books. Has anyone discarded the paper copy and relied on the bibliographic records in the electronic catalog? Our tech says we have all the data from the accession list in the bibliographic record (a duplication of effort) and thinks we can stop using the accession list. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
