I am getting rid of a lot of past issues. I am keeping only those older Time
and Newsweek with "Special Reports" or "The Year in Pictures" plus I will
keep the current school year (ex:2002-2003) and each year will discard all
but those special issues. I keep all of American Heritage, and will keep 2
years each of National Geographic, Popular Science and Smithsonian. All the
rest, I keep only the current school year in boxes and will discard all at
the end of the school year- ESPN, SKiing,Consumer Reports,Ebony,Car &
Driver,Discover.

Of course, I keep Booklist and Technology & Learning for three years for
myself.

This has allowed me to free up a number of shelves and I now can shelve my
videos at a more manageable height.

Subject: TARGET: Magazines vs. internet

How many of you are keeping magazines? I am looking at circ stats
for the past few years and I am concerned about the lack of interest
in magazines which appears to be a trend. What is the magic number
of checkouts per year based on number of subscriptions or student
body? I am not sure how to make a decision on this matter. What do
you think?
