Nina, I don't agree with the nay-sayers. Latin affords an infinite number of ways to express complex ideas in English. After all, 65% of English is based on Latin vocabulary and concepts. The idea of surfing is to wander, pick and choose, so I would use the verb pererro, ---are (conjugated form pererravi= I wandered) or the verb lego, -ere (to read) - not as colorful but more recognizable.
