Our aide (we've dubbed her the textbook manager because we do =
textbooks)
sends letters home, addressed to the parent (not the parent or guardian =
of:
<student name>, and has changed from school letterhead envelope to a =
plain
white envelope.  For the return address she types:
LMC/CRds        for Library Media Center/Crystal River her initials
1205 NE 8th Ave.=20
Crystal River, FL  34428

We also have an automated phone system that calls and leaves messages =
for
parents of kids not in school.  We have them leave a message about lost =
or
damaged or fines on books.

We "hold diplomas" from seniors and when they take care of their =
obligations
they can come in and get it.

Our Dean of Discipline is excellent about getting our fines and books, =
too.
We send the names of students who owe for a long time, owe a large =
amount,
or just give us attitude when we tell them they owe and most take care =
of it
within a week.
