Holy Toledo!! $1500???

Can I ask where you get that amount of money? Is it given to you as budget
money, or do you earn it with your book fairs?

I had a wonderful author/illustrator a few years back for $500. She lives
within 30 miles of here so the travel was minimal.  Now she wants $1500!
For one day!! I don' t bring that home in two weeks. And I just had a book
fair and made $1300 - 40 hours of work and still not enough to pay her fee.

It's a shame because the kids would love it. But I can't justify spending
that much money - I just can't!!

On that same note, The Wright Group has some wonderful science books in a
big books format. Sunshine Science books. We bought a few three years ago
and I would like to order some more BUT they are $31.50 a piece and they are
only 14 pages, STAPLED together. In my mind, they aren't worth the $31.50. I
even called the sales person and was told no discount. Jeesh.
