Just to set the record straight... in New Jersey, a teacher has tenure after teaching one day of the fourth year in a school district. Before a teacher has tenure, he or she can be turned down for a new contract for no reason. There is nothing illegal in the situation that our lmnetter finds herself. However, she has a year to make her case. The board needs a steady stream of reports and word of mouth about how well the library is running, and how much it contributes to the learning in the school.
