Greetings, =20 I have been asked to recommend a novel with a lower reading level to = round out the offerings for a literature circle with the theme of "a = changing world" to be conducted in 8th grade next year. The other novels = it will accompany are: ATree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, Cold = Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns, (the higher level ones) and Nothing to = Fear by Jackie French Koller. It should appeal to the reluctant reader, = especially boys, and should be set in that same time period. =20 Does such a book exist?=20 =20 Thank you for your help. I'll post a hit with any replies I receive. =20 =20 Diane Norby, Library Media Teacher Hopkinton Middle School Hopkinton, MA=20 =20 dnorby@hopkinton.k12.ma.us =20 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
