I have been in the middle school for eight years. I was a language arts teacher for five years and I've been the media specialist for three. I am graduating to high school! I am looking for some free advice as to what I should expect. The high school is twice the size of the middle school where I work, but I understand circulation statistics in high school are often lower. Kids have more homework and jobs...less free time to read. The principal mentioned that she wanted the media center to be more inviting and to increase circulation. Any suggestions I can work on over the summer? (We only have four more school days, yippee!)
