 I spend the last week/s of school....  promoting the Public Library summ=
er
reading programs.  Our public libraries provide bookmarks, posters, and
flyers about their summer programs.  One year I took the video camera to =
the
public library and make a quick promo video.... interviewing the children=
's
librarian, etc.   This year with the little ones... after talking about t=
he
P L program... we walked up to the circulation desk where we have a speak=
er
phone... and called the library "storyline" telephone number. The kids lo=
ved
it!=0D

This year I spent the last class with our 5th graders showing them the we=
b
pages of the schools that 90% of them will attend.  We looked at the kind=
s
of activities and clubs offered... found pictures of many of the middle
school administrators, teachers, etc.  I even showed them the dress code,
etc. for each school.... and of course checked out the media center pages=
