What are her qualifications to be a viewer?

I would be uncomfortable with anyone but myself reading the books - but,
maybe, that is a personal quirk.

PS. That would also be the last book she reviewed for me.

Subject: Censorship by a Volunteer

We have a parent who has volunteered for the past year to
review fiction books for us. She has been very consistent
and provides me with a very detailed review of the content
of each book, as well as suggestions for reading level,
target audience, etc.

As I thumbed through the last set of books she returned, I
found several pages where she had crossed out a word or
two with black marker. When I called to ask her about it
she indicated that she had crossed out a few swear words
that she felt were inappropriate as well as a short
passage that suggested an experience with incest.

I suggested to her that maybe she should just mark those
questionable pages and let me handle them. I got a rather
neutral response. I haven't seen the last pile of books
that she took home for the summer, but I am anxious about
them. I am also anxious to do the right thing with regards
to the relationship we have with a helpful and capable
volunteer.

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks,
